This is a suburban tour for a change. We planned to go more East, but turn back West when we notice it is going to be too long a way. We start the same route as last week, and stop for breakfast at Da Paolo at Bukit Timah. We have had their pizza in their Holland Village location before, and this place does not disappoint us either. It is just some awesome food: the grilled vegetable sandwich is delicious and the coffee so gooood!. We take the Old Upper Thompson Rd, and this time we don't see many monkeys. Last week they were all over the road, probably because someone had dumped a garbage bag by the road. When out of the jungle we ride through the densily developed northmost part of the country and past many colorful HDB flats. We even make the mistake to take one of the park connectors but return to the road soon. Why all the pedestrians are on the dedicated bike lanes, when there is no one on the dedicated pedestrian lanes? When almost home, we have salads and coffee at the nearby Coffee Bean. It is not even near as good as Da Paolo, but the coffee is much better than at Starbucks. The odometer tells we have ridden 2112 kilometers on these bikes we bought last Summer. This time we had slicker tires, so the going was a bit smoother. We did not adjust the meter, so the distance measure may be little misleading. |
