The big day started with the class in the morning. Then I had about an hour to go home, take a shower, dress up and go to The Alexander Theater, which used to be Helsinki's Opera House before the Finnish National Opera moved to the new building. Our dress rehearsal was supposed to be at 2pm, but we started an hour late. The two shows started at 4pm and 7pm, and both ran for two and a half hours including intermission. There were 32 numbers in the first show and 34 in the second one. I practically spent eight hours in my Irish shoes. Boy, I was tired when home at 10:30pm. Tomi took this single picture, although any kind of photographing or video taping was strictly forbidden (I had no idea!). |
