| This weekend we visit two small coastal towns in South-western Finland. We spend the first night in Naantali, which is home of Moomin World, and our president's Summer residence. We spend a night in a small cabin at the campground that is located less than a kilometer away from downtown on Kuparivuori ('Copper mountain' in English). It is not really a mountain but makes quite a tedious hike, and run! It is nice and cool early in the morning when we head out for a run. Not too many people are out yet, just a couple of Nordic walkers. Did you know that Nordic walking has its 10th anniversary this weekend? Rest of the Sunday we spend in Uusikaupunki, and an event that exhibits renovation of old wooden houses. Households and families that have done exceptional job in refurbishing an old, at best a 150 years old, building opened their homes and gardens for visitors. More than 60 private households participated in the event. |
