Comments Ave 144, +18C, sunny. It is unseasonably warm and nice here; at nighttime it is even warmer than in Bloomington. I left the office early since I needed to do some laundry. Meanwhile I went for a short run since I cancelled the interval body session I planned for today. All the the trails and crossings in the park look alike, so I got lost --- no harm done, just a three minutes longer run.

Comments This was like core and balance exercises back in Bloomington, only that the balls here are not well inflated but feel more like marshmallow. That makes balancing much harder, since the ball is so bouncy and soft.

Comments A combination of cardio training (no choreography and complicated step sequences) and weight training using dumbbells and mat. However hard I try, it is really hard to get the heart rate up. Probably we should do more varying things, not just running and jumping jacks in place. Tomi played indoor soccer earlier today.

Comments Our first time in group exercise at the Helsinki University Recreational Sport Center in Kumpula Campus. The class was supposed to start with an easy warm-up and then train each major muscle group using various equipment. The warm-up was not easy, and the strength-part too hasty. Tomi gave up after 20 minutes of step sequences. I sweat to the end.

Comments Ave 137, cloudy, +14C. We did a hopsism-based run in the neighborhood not so familiar to me. It is hard to name the routes since there are so many trails around here.
Hopsism is art of choosing one's route, not necessarily running, to the direction that looks the most comfortable or convenient. In urban neighborhoods it usually means going to where ever there is a green light for pedestrians. When running in Bloomington, it meant turning to the direction where there was some shade from the excruciating sun.

Comments Ave 147, max 163, +16C, sunny. We tested the metered 3 kilometer route in the nearby park. It is quite a luxury to have such a nice outdoor facility starting from our doorsteps.

The weather is still nice, which is quite exceptional for this late Summer. I still find it disturbing how people stare at me; they do make an eye-contact but do not say anything or do not show any impression. Welcome to the land of zombieeeeesss!
