At Floyd's we taste on draft: - Drunk Monk (Hefeweizen), 5% ABV, 20 IBU, $6 23oz -- well balanced classic German style Hefe
- Merciless Minger ESB, 6% ABV, 50 IBU, $5 20oz -- significant roasted aroma, not typical ESB but niiice!
- Caligulan Imperial Cream Ale, 7.5%, $5 20oz -- a lot of fruit as in TF's beers in general; a guy next table characterizes it as grapefruit. He hated it, we love it :-)
- Thulza Doom IPA, 8%, $5 12oz -- fruity, as well.
- Bob Da Broot Scotch Ale (Wee heavy), 9%, 25 IBU, $6 snifter -- sweet, plentiful of raisin
- Black Sun Stout, 6.2%, 50 IBU, $5 20oz -- on nitro, a lot of citrus and hops for a stout
- Liefman Frambozen (guest beer), $6 -- pretty authentic lambic
We don't taste their flagship Alpha King, since it has been widely available in Bloomington, as well as Robert The Bruce (Scottish ale) and Pride and Joy (mild ale). We split a house salad, and a pizza with grilled artichoke hearts, roasted peppers, kalamata olives and goat cheese. We ask the staff to call us a cab, since we have no intention to drive back to the motel. They have never done it before, so it takes some time, both calling and for the cab to arrive. We wait for 40 minutes and almost give up. |
